Back from SCCA Rallycross Nationals with 1st place in Mod All! Great weekend overall, with highs and lows.
Sat. Am course was great, very fun with 2 blind crests but Sat. Afternoon was very stressful. Took a while to get up to speed, and never quite got there. Max Lawson was setting some crazy fast times, and we were getting a lot of clutch smell in the pits, so it made for a worrisome evening with Max closing in.
Had to make a difficult decision to have Bianca sit out the remainder of her runs to try to preserve the car Sunday. I lucked out with the course design being fast and flowing.
I was able to set fast time and keep the car together. The course had a ton of grip and I really enjoyed the keeping it wide open through the long sweepers. Great end to a very fun, rewarding weekend.
Got to try out a set of new Zestino gravel tires, and they held up very well and had a ton of grip. Showing virtually no wear with 20 very hard runs on them. Special thank you to them for getting me a set in a pinch 2 weeks before nationals. Also special thank you to Quentin Hunt for letting me drag the work trailer across the country again.
